Sustainability Overview
We have a Sustainability Manager, to help lead and evaluate our ESG business practices and activities. Rocky's aggressively pursues resource efficiency and conservation opportunities. We are working to expand and improve our data gathering processes and analytical tools across the Company. This will lead to consistent data gathering, expanded access to data, and improved long-term tracking capabilities. We can provide comprehensive sustainability reporting, and utilize AI assisted Dispatch protocols which prioritize carbon efficiency in logistical planning.
Our sustainability manager is constantly evaluating opportunities for establishing key management systems to improve data collection and contribute to broader company-wide sustainability advancements. Our affiliate management team evaluates our affiliate partners' sustainability profile and is enhancing our supplier assessment process, including a heightened emphasis on decarbonization and social standards and cybersecurity controls.
Rocky's offsets 100 percent of the carbon produced by our rides.
Our offset purchases help finance projects certified by RENADE, VERRA GOLD STANDARD and UNFCCC, supporting:
- Local job creation
- Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions
- Reduction of fossil fuels
- We are committed to doing our part to limit global temperature rise to 1.5°C by becoming net-zero by 2030
Energy Efficient offices and vehicles
Our cleaning crews only use products that are Green, this includes household cleaning and laundry products, compact LED light bulbs, paper products made from at least 50% recycled content, and more.
Green products are as effective as leading national brands, but they are made with naturally derived and biodegradable ingredients whenever possible.
Planet Climate & Energy
Reducing our carbon footprint helps Rocky's do its part to address climate change. We strive to lower our energy use in many ways – improving fuel efficiency in our vehicles, increasing our use of EV's in our fleet.
Utilizing smart dispatch systems and switching to LED's that use less electricity, as well as harnessing renewable energy such as wind and solar. We work with Climate Partners, a nonprofit collaboration that sets consistent and transparent standards to calculate, verify and publicly report greenhouse gas emissions into a single registry.
Driving Sustainability across Rocky's Fleet of Vehicles
Rocky's has embedded sustainability into the company's day to day operations. It is a personal mission for each employee and every franchise owner. Our fleet manager is responsible for setting and meeting fuel efficiency goals for Rocky's fleet of vehicles. By keeping each vehicle in the fleet in optimal mechanical form, our technicians are able to reduce carbon emissions.
All oil and other waste is disposed of using an environmentally friendly disposal company. Our advanced diagnostic software is able to let our fleet manager know what vehicles are not performing to the highest standard, keeping our carbon footprint to an all-time low in the life cycle of the company.
